This work is conceived as a wall-mounted display frame—an architectural structure designed to present six chess pieces as autonomous sculptural forms.

Finished in matte black lacquer, the frame provides a dramatic, neutral field. Its beveled edges define a clean perimeter, allowing the composition to breathe while directing attention inward. Within it, six pieces—some plated in precious gold, others hand-painted and varnished in deep black—are suspended in deliberate balance. The bold contrast between gold and black gives the composition a striking character, elevating the pieces from their original function to pure presence.
