The Dune of Gold is a vertical chessboard sculpted from sand-toned micro-cement, where material becomes memory—echoing dunes, wind, and time. A piece that doesn’t simply hold the game; it outlives it.

The entire surface is rendered in a single monolithic tone, an uninterrupted expanse of mineral sand. The grid is not drawn but carved: each square emerges through subtle shifts in relief, allowing light to define the board. Shadows glide across the recessed geometry, revealing the pattern only when the viewer comes close. 
 

Completing the composition, the chess pieces rise in gold and matte white, meticulously painted and lacquered by hand. Their presence brings contrast and purity, a dialogue between metal, mineral, and light. They stand not as mere game elements but as sculptural accents—small architectural artifacts that inhabit the dune.
